It provides data on criminal offenses, associated case numbers, dates, and court decisions. Police Clearance Certificates are required for travel/immigration purposes, adoption, and in some cases for employment.
If you’re applying for SACE or NCR membership, or just need a document indicating the presence or absence of a criminal record, a Police Clearance Report could be more suited. With Police Clearance Reports the SAPS database is searched for fingerprints matching those of the applicant. Matching records might include data on past convictions or ongoing cases linked to those fingerprints. Turnaround time: 1 hour.
