This privacy policy details how CSI Africa (hereafter “CSI Africa”, “us”, “our”, “we”, “the company”) uses and protects your information through use of the company’s services. CSI Africa is the “Responsible Party” as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“the POPI Act”). All information is processed and stored in compliance with the POPI Act. CSI Africa is committed to the protection of your privacy. Any information provided to CSI Africa will be used and stored in accordance with this privacy statement. We may change this policy periodically without any prior notice given. As such it is advised to visit this page on a regular basis and ensure that you are satisfied with any changes made. What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Full name
  • Identity number and / or passport number
  • Copies / certified copies of your identity document and / or passport
  • Complete contact information (including email address)
  • Employment information, e.g. name of employer, job title, employer contact details
  • Demographic information, e.g. postal code, preferences, interests
  • Biometric information e.g. fingerprint scans
  • Credit card and / or bank account information required for payment of CSI Africa’s services
  • Any other information relevant to the services offered by CSI Africa

How your information is used

The information gathered will be used to perform the services requested of us by yourself, or on your behalf by an authorised party / agent (e.g. an employer). This information will not be shared, sold, leased, or made available to any third parties without your permission. Should you wish your information to be removed subsequent to the provision of the requested services, you may advise CSI Africa in writing. Your information will be removed permanently upon receipt of your written request.

Security Policy

CSI Africa commits itself to the security of information. This commitment includes measures as required by all relevant legislation, including the POPI Act. Unauthorised access to our systems are prevented by means of physical, electronic, and managerial security guidelines and procedures to ensure the protection of your personal information. To achieve this, demographic data is held separate from biometric data. The link between the two can only be established by applying a unique algorithm. The algorithm combines the application certificate and unique record identifiers. Any data transmitted is encrypted and can only be retrieved via secured HTTP access. Your data can only be access or modified when your identity has been biometrically confirmed. In addition, you are informed every time “you” are verified and / or your details are amended. A complete audit trail is kept of all digital queries, amendments, additions or deletions to your personal information. This audit log records the date and time of the activity as well as who accessed the information.

We do not use cookies

Cookies are small files containing information relevant to a website. These files are stored on your computer’s hard drive. Said information may include credentials, times, dates, session-based information, etc., and make it possible for websites or web-based applications to respond to you as an individual. The digital verification and / or screening systems used by CSI Africa to perform its advertised services do not rely on the use of cookies, thus reducing potential security threats.
